English Orange Cake

Ingredients

• 1 cup(s) Dates, chopped
• 1 orange rind, grated
• 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
• Cream cheese frosting
• ½ cup(s) butter
• 1 cup(s) Sugar
• 2 Eggs
• + 6 more ingredients
• • 2 cup(s) flour
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 cup(s) milk
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vinegar

Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Sift flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder together. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and vinegar, mixing well. Add dates, nuts, orange rind and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into one 9x13 inch pan or two 8x8 inch pans. Bake at 350° for 20 to25 minutes.
