Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • ¾ cup walnut pieces
  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup mascarpone
  • 1 pound dried Mission figs

Put oven rack in middle position and preheat oven to 350°F.
