Flourless Chocolate-Almond Cake with Almond-Cherry-Caramel Glaze

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Kirschwasser or other cherry liqueur
  • 1/8 tsp. table salt
  • ¾ cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup matzo cake meal
  • ½ cup slivered almonds, toasted and coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup unsalted stick margarine, softened, more for the pan

    • 8 oz. bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
    • 1/3 cup dried cherries
    • 6 large eggs, separated
    • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
