Fried Apple Pies (Kind Of)


  • 3 large apples, peeled, cored and chopped into medium pieces (gala, fuji, Granny Smith or a combination)
  • 1 c water, apple juice or cranberry juice
  • ½ c granulated sugar or Florida Crystals
  • 1 t ground cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg
  • 1 T unsalted butter
  • 1 (10-ounce) can flaky biscuit dough, separated into individual biscuits
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • Water
    • 2 T honey

Place apples in a medium saucepan with water, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes, uncovered, mashing occasionally with a fork until thickened and tender. Cool, add butter and use a fork to mash until chunky. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. On a floured ...
