Ingredients

  • ½ cup cornmeal
  • Vegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 medium-size green tomatoes, cut into 1/3-inch slices

Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, and pepper in a medium mixing bowl; stir well. Dredge tomato slices in cornmeal mixture.
