Fried Green Tomatoes 19
- 1/3 cup(s) bacon drippings
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- ¼ teaspoon(s) salt
- ½ cup(s) white or yellow cornmeal
- 4 green tomatoes, thickly sliced
Mix together the cornmeal with salt and pepper. Dip the tomato slices in the mixture. In a heavy skillet, heat the bacon drippings. Sauté the tomato slices quickly until browned on both sides.
