Fried Onions and Apples


  • 3 yellow onions, sliced (large)
  • 3 tablespoon(s) butter or margarine
  • 6 tart red apples, sliced (large)
  • ½ cup(s) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • ½ teaspoon(s) paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) ground nutmeg

in a large saucepan over medium heat, sauté the onions in butter until tender. Place apples on top of onions. Combine remaining ingredients; sprinkle over apples. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Uncover and simmer 5 minutes longer or until the apples are tender. Serve with a slotted spoon.
