Garlic-Infused Mashed Potatoes and Celery Root

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. medium Yukon Gold potatoes (about 5), peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes (4 cups)
  • 3 fresh bay leaves (or 1 dried)
  • ½ cup crème fraîche
  • 10 medium cloves garlic, halved
  • 1 Tbs. unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Kosher salt
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • 1-½ lb. celery root, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces (3 cups)
