Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter (½ stick), cut into small pieces
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sweetened angel flake coconut
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • For the topping::
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • + 9 more ingredients
    • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
    • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 ½ teaspoons grated orange zest
    • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed orange juice
    • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
    • 2 tablespoons honey
    • ¼ cup finely chopped crystallized ginger
    • 2 ½ pounds Pink Lady, Gala, or Jonagold apples, peeled, cored, and cut into eighths
    • For the filling::
