  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 5 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 4 cups coarsely grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup hard apple cider*
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 baguette
  • 2 tablespoons Calvados, applejack brandy, or poire Williams (clear pear brandy)

    • 8 ounces kielbasa sausage
