Gullah Rice


  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
  • ¼ cup chopped pistachios
  • ½ cup chopped carrot
  • 3 cups water
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • 1 teaspoon butter

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add celery, carrot, and pistachios; sauté 5 minutes or until tender. Add water and salt; bring to a boil. Add rice and thyme; return to a boil.
