Ingredients

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ¼ cup parsley
  • 10 ounces baby spinach
  • 8 cabbage leaves
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • corn bread or rice
  • + 10 more ingredients
    • 2 smoked ham hocks (1 lb each)
    • ¾ pound turnip greens
    • 1 pound mustard greens
    • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
    • ½ pound beet greens
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • hot sauce such as Tabasco
    • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 2 medium onions
    • 2 small fresh hot red chiles

Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil in a 6- to 8-quart wide heavy pot. Add cabbage and simmer, covered, until tender, about 10 minutes.
