Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 12 ½ teaspoons sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3-inch round cookie cutter
  • ½ stick unsalted butter
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • 2 1/4-ounce packages active dry yeast
    • 1 large egg
    • ¼ cup water
    • 1 stand mixer with paddle and dough-hook attachments

Bring milk to a bare simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and cool to 105 to 115°F.
