Heirloom Tomato, Baby Basil, and Sourdough Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 cup loosely packed baby basil leaves
  • 3 (2-ounce) slices sourdough bread, crusts removed
  • 1 ¼ pounds heirloom cherry tomatoes (larger tomatoes halved)
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • 1 teaspoon superfine or granulated sugar
