Homemade ‘Milano’ cookies


  • 1 stick butter, unsalted
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbs egg whites (from one large egg)
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 3 ½ ounces semisweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
