Homemade Mincemeat Pie

Ingredients

• 1 ½ teaspoons ground cloves
• 1 ½ teaspoons grated lemon rind
• ¾ teaspoon salt
• 1 cup raisins
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
• ½ cup currants

• • ½ cup molasses
  • ½ cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons whipping cream
  • 2 ½ cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • ¾ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 ½ cups peeled, chopped apples
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
  • Double-Crust Pastry

Combine first 15 ingredients in a large Dutch oven; stir well. Cook over medium heat 15 minutes. Add beef; cook an additional 15 minutes. Cool. Divide pastry into 4 equal portions.
