Honey Cupcakes with Strawberries

• 1 pint strawberries, sliced
• 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar (optional)
• ¾ cup heavy cream
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
