  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves (or a little less, if you prefer)
  • Confectioners' sugar, for dusting
  • 2 Tbs. honey
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 Tbs. (¾ stick) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • + 7 more ingredients
    • ½ tsp. ground ginger
    • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
    • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • ½ tsp. baking powder
    • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
    • Grated zest of ½ orange
