Honey-Wheat Sunflower Bread

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter or margarine, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1/3 cup instant dry milk powder
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
    • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
    • 2 cups warm water (120 to 130 degrees F)

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the water, 2 cups all-purpose or bread flour, yeast and sugar. Beat on low speed for 3 minutes. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes. (Mixture will be spongy.) Stir in whole wheat flour, oats, milk powder, butter, honey and salt; mix well...
