Hot Spicy Shredded Beets

Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon(s) cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • 2 pound(s) beets, trimmed, peeled, & coarsely grated
  • ½ cup(s) coarsely grated onion
  • 3 tablespoon(s) butter or margarine
  • ½ cup(s) water
  • ¼ cup(s) Arbor Hill Noiret Red Wine
  • + 3 more ingredients
    • juice of ½ lemon
    • ½ teaspoon(s) Salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon(s) pepper

Combine all ingredients and simmer, covered, 25 to 30 minutes until beets are tender and flavors well blended. Stir once or twice during cooking. Serve with a slotted spoon. Serves 6.
