Ice Cream Parfaits with Strawberries and Balsamic Syrup

Ingredients

  • ½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper (optional)
  • 3 Tbs. granulated sugar
  • 1-½ pints vanilla ice cream, gelato, or frozen yogurt
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup pine nuts, toasted
  • 1 pint (12 oz.) strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced
