Indian Bread Pudding with Cardamom Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Cooking spray
  • Sauce:
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped pistachios
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 large egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 9 (1-ounce) slices white bread
  • + 6 more ingredients
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • Pudding:
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
    • 1 cup evaporated fat-free milk
    • 1 cup whole milk
    • ¼ teaspoon rose-flower water (optional)

Preheat oven to 400°. To prepare pudding, trim crusts from bread. Arrange bread slices in a single layer on a baking sheet; brush with melted butter. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes or until toasted.
