Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/4-oz package active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon nigella seeds or poppy seeds
  • 2 medium onions
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 cup water

Stir together water, yeast, and sugar in a small bowl until sugar is dissolved, then let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes. (If mixture doesn't foam, discard and start over with new yeast.)
