Ladies' Mile Applesauce Raisin Cake Diamond

Ingredients

• 1 cup pecans or walnuts
• ½ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• ½ cup light brown sugar
• 4 large eggs
