Leeks Braised With Parmesan Cheese


  • 2 leeks, white and pale green part only, halved lengthwise and cleaned
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 1 1/3 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
  • ¼ cup water

1 Preheat oven to 350°F. 2 Combine leeks, oil and water in baking dish. 3 Sprinkle with pepper if desired. 4 Cover with foil and bake until tender, about 25 minutes; drain. 5 Sprinkle with cheese; bake, uncovered, until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes longer.
