Lemon-Cornmeal Cookies

• 1 cup all-purpose flour (about 4 1/2 ounces)
• ¹/₃ cup yellow cornmeal
• ½ teaspoon baking soda
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
• 1 large egg
• ¾ cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
