Licorice Pudding

Ingredients

• 1 instant-read thermometer
• 1 ½ tablespoons unsalted butter
• 3 large egg yolks
• 5 teaspoons cornstarch
• 8 ¹/₆ tablespoons sugar
• 4 ½ cups whole milk
