Maraschino Ice Cream Coupes with Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ cup half and half
  • ¼ cup maraschino liqueur
  • ½ cup dried tart cherries
  • 2 pints vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup chopped almonds
  • 2 tablespoons maraschino liqueur
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • 1 teaspoon almond extract
    • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate

Combine all ingredients in bowl. Freeze until firm, about 4 hours. Cook cherries and liqueur in small saucepan over low heat until warm. Remove from heat, cover and let stand 20 minutes.
