Meatballs In Wine Gravy

Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup whipping cream
  • 2 cups water
  • ¾ cup fine dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • 1 ½ teaspoons salt, divided
    • 1 cup Burgundy or other dry, red wine
    • ¼ cup butter or margarine
    • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

Combine ground chuck, breadcrumbs, onion, whipping cream, egg, and 1 teaspoon salt; mix well. Shape mixture into 3/4- inch balls. Melt butter in a heavy skillet over low heat.
