Mint-Chocolate Chip Gelato


  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon pure peppermint extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 5 large egg yolks
  • 14 sprigs fresh mint
  • 2 ½ cups whole milk
