Mint Chocolate Chip-Vanilla Wreaths


  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup miniature semisweet chocolate pieces
  • ½ teaspoon mint extract
  • Green food coloring
  • + 3 more ingredients
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces (optional)
    • ¼ teaspoon shortening (optional)

1. In a medium mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar and salt. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any remaining flour. Divide the dough in half.
