Mixed Grilled Cheese and Oven Dried Tomato Crostini


  • Fresh herb sprigs, such as thyme, rosemary or sage
  • About ¾ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ baguette, cut into 24 1/3-inch-thick slices
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 pounds ripe plum tomatoes, cored and halved lengthwise
  • Kosher salt
