Molasses Yeast Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (110 degrees F to 115 degrees F)
  • ½ teaspoon honey
  • 1 ½ cups warm milk (110 to 115 degrees F)
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • + 3 more ingredients
    • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
    • 3 cups whole wheat flour
    • 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add honey; let stand for 5 minutes. Add the milk, molasses, butter, egg, salt and whole wheat flour. Beat until smooth.
