Mom's Danish Pastries

Ingredients

  • 2 cup(s) powdered sugar
  • 1 stick(s) butter, softened
  • ¼ cup(s) warm water
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • ¼ cup(s) solid shortening
  • Orange juice

    • 3 ½ cup(s) flour

Stir together milk, sugar, shortening and salt until shortening has melted and sugar dissolved. When cool, stir in the yeast and water. Beat in eggs, lemon juice, vanilla and mace.
