Nectarine-Red Wine Sauce

  • 3 ½ cups nectarines with peel
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 3x1/2-inch strip orange peel
  • 1 3-inch cinnamon sticks
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1 3x1/2-inch strip lemon peel

Stir first 6 ingredients in medium saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat and boil syrup 1 minute. Reduce heat. Add nectarines.
