New Old Fashioned Pot Roast

Ingredients

  • 1 pound(s) potatoes, cut into large chunks
  • 2 tablespoon(s) oil or other fat
  • ½ cup(s) dry red wine
  • 1 cup(s) stock or water
  • 2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • ½ pound(s) carrots, in 1 inch pieces
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • salt and pepper
    • 3 pound(s) chuck roast

Preheat oven to 350° F. Pat meat dry. Salt and pepper generously. Heat fat and brown meat (medium-high) about 5 - 8 minutes each side. Remove meat to a plate.
