Nutmeg Loaf

Ingredients

  • 1 cup(s) Sugar
  • ½ cup(s) shortening
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 2 cup(s) flour
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 2 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • dash of salt
    • 1 cup(s) buttermilk

Mix sugar, shortening, eggs, and vanilla until blended. Combine flour, baking soda, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well. Add dry ingredients to sugar mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Place ingredients in greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Makes one large loaf.
