Orange-and-Avocado Salad

Ingredients

• ½ teaspoon salt
• 1 ½ teaspoons sugar
• ¼ to 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
• 6 cups tightly packed torn curly leaf lettuce
• 1 ½ cups fresh orange sections (about 3 large)
• 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
• ¼ teaspoon pepper
• + 2 more ingredients
• • ¾ cup chopped peeled avocado
  • 3 tablespoons water

Combine first 3 ingredients in a bowl, and toss gently to mix. Combine sugar and the next 5 ingredients in a small bowl; stir with a whisk until blended. Pour over salad; toss gently to coat.
