Ingredients

  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 9 large eggs
  • 3 ¾ cups sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ tablespoons grated orange peel

    • 4 ½ cups cake flour
    • 3 ½ teaspoons ground cardamom
    • 33 2 1/2-inch-wide by 1 1/2-inch-high paper panettone molds
    • 2 teaspoons orange-flower water
    • Nonstick vegetable oil spray
    • 36 tablespoons unsalted butter
