  • ½ cup dry red wine*
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1 cup red wine vinegar
  • 24 oysters in the shell
  • Rock salt
  • 1 tablespoon minced shallot
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • ½ to 3/4 teaspoon salt

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring until sugar dissolves. Pour mixture into a shallow dish; freeze, uncovered, 3 hours or until firm.
