PEACH PRESERVES

Ingredients

  • 2 cup(s) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon(s) butter
  • 4 cup(s) sugar
  • 6 ½ cup(s) peaches, cut up

Cut up peaches. Place in a large pan on stove. Stir in 4 cups sugar. Bring to a boil, boil 6 minutes. Add 2 more cups sugar. Boil 6 more minutes. Take off heat. Let set for 24 hours, stirring often. After 24 hours, bring back to a rolling boil. Add margarine, place in jars and seal.
