Ingredients

2 cup(s) sugar
2 cup(s) raw peanuts
½ teaspoon(s) salt
2 tablespoon(s) butter, plus extra for pan and fingers
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
½ teaspoon(s) vanilla (optional)
1 cup(s) water

- 1 cup(s) corn syrup , preferably light

Mix together in a 3-quart, heavy bottom saucepan the sugar, water, corn syrup, salt, and peanuts.
