  • ½ cup chopped dates

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

    • 2 pears, peeled, cored, and sliced

    • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • ¼ cup 1% low-fat milk
    • ¼ cup pear nectar
    • ¼ cup butter, softened
    • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Preheat oven to 350°. Melt 1 1/2 tablespoons butter in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet, and add 1/4 cup pear nectar, 1/3 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, stirring until combined.
