- ¼ teaspoon celery seed
- ½ teaspoon prepared mustard
- ½ teaspoon mustard seed
- 1 garlic clove, peeled and halved
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- ¼ cup water
- 1/3 cup cider vinegar

- 1 medium onion, cut into 1/8-inch slices
