Ingredients

  • Milk
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 5 tablespoons frozen lard or solid vegetable shortening
  • 3 ½ pounds Pippin or Granny Smith apples
  • 9 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/3 cup golden brown sugar
  • + 8 more ingredients
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • ¾ teaspoon salt
    • Vanilla ice cream
    • 2 ½ cups all purpose flour
    • ¾ cup hazelnuts
    • 2 tablespoons golden brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
