  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups very warm water (120°F to 130°F)
  • 1 ¾ cups wheat berries or 2 cups whole wheat flour
