Plain Layer Cake

Ingredients

• ½ cup(s) butter or oleo or Crisco
• 2 eggs (Large)
• 1 cup(s) granulated sugar
• 2 ½ teaspoon(s) double acting baking powder
• 2 cup(s) sifted cake flour
• ²/₃ cup(s) milk
• ½ teaspoon(s) vanilla or other flavoring

Cream butter with mixer at high speed. Add sugar and heat until light. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat at high speed until fluffy.
