  • ½ tsp. ground cardamom
  • ½ tsp. table salt
  • Pinch (about 1/16 tsp.) ground cardamom
  • 2-¼ oz. (½ cup) unbleached all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • + 9 more ingredients
    • 4 oz. (8 Tbs.) cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces; more softened for the pan
    • ¼ cup packed dark or light brown sugar
    • 1-½ tsp. baking powder
    • ¼ cup whole milk
    • ½ cup granulated sugar
    • 6-¾ oz. (1-½ cups) unbleached all-purpose flour; more for the pan
    • 1-½ tsp. pure vanilla extract
    • 1-½ oz. (3 Tbs.) unsalted butter, melted; more as needed
