Porter Cake

Ingredients

• 1 bottle 12-ounce porter or stout
• 2 eggs
• 3 ounces chopped candied peel
• 1 pound golden raisins (sultanas; 450g)
• 1 cup packed light brown sugar
• 1 cup butter
• pinch salt
