Prune Mocha Cake

Ingredients

• ½ cup shortening
• 1 ½ cups white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup prunes, cooked and chopped
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ tablespoons strong brewed coffee

1. In a large bowl, cream the white sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Beat the eggs, and add to the sugar mixture. Add the prunes. 2.
